loving the world/not leaving itDarin, Aimee and Kim discuss the common misconception regarding coming away from the world. As a Free Believer, living in the wild, this particular teaching takes on a whole new meaning. No longer can we seclude ourselves in a synthetic bubble-like-society safely away from the world. Free Believers must embrace people in the world and consider it a privilege to do so, with absolutely no ulterior motive. This is the very essence of the message. Thankyou, Darin. Good to hear that because salvation is for me the central ingredient-along with love and relationship- but without salvation His death would not be what it is; you know a promise and the key to eternal life, the thing that sets it apart from all other belief systems. I'm still getting my head around how, the Lamb was slain at the foundation of the world and manifested in these times, which must mean his time. I think I'm going to need to take some time to study this concept. I mean I've heard the verse before,(not sure where it is) but really haven't understood this cosmology to any degree or depth, it's quite mind blowing actually. I need to take time to consider its significance in the big picture of Jesus' life and death. Thanks again, really, thanks for the soul food.
Allie - we were saying that He died for relationship and his death also covered our sin. The Bible says that the Lamb was slain at the foundation of the world but was manifested in these times. In other words, He died for relationship and that death was later manifested in order to cover sin.
I think this is a beautiful and realistic message. I was thinking lately about how western religion is a long way from the life Jesus led. Also this resonated because unless people feel that you actually care about them, without an ulterior motive, you are more likely to turn them away rather than draw them close to the Lord's love. I think a lot of people hate the idea of Christianity because they are afraid they'll be judged and told how to live, people need to be accepted as they are and then the Lord will slowly cause changes within them. I don't understand though what you meant about how the reason Jesus died was to give us his heart, not to save us, sorrry don't get that. Seems to me that Salvation is the reason Jesus died for all and also to bring us into an eternal relationship.
I thought the message was pretty good myself. But what do I know, Im just an eight hundred pound gorilla in the room.
We all hope that someday we can be filled with anger and hate and judgmentalism so we can be as holy as John. I listened to this and I did't find it offensive. I did however find John's comment to be unchristian and unholy. Your mind must be in the gutter John, if you had a problem with this.
John, I’m not exactly sure what has gotten you so upset about this podcast since you didn’t say so I’m making some assumptions. Although words were used that I wouldn’t used, I’ve decided that I’m not going to allow those words to keep me from hearing the heart of the message. The essence of the message is very freeing and is also VERY “Christian”. Perhaps, people in the Bible had difficulty receiving the message that John the Baptist spoke because of his rough manner but that didn’t mean the message was wrong or that the messenger was unholy. Try to listen to the heart of the message of this podcast and I’m sure you’ll find God speaking to you through it.
The most disgusting so-called "Christian" podcast I have ever heard. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. You are the epitome of what the world is all about. Have you ever heard on the concept of holiness? as in "Be ye Holy as I am Holy"?
